I need to create a copy of my MMC card and I'd like to create a perfect byte-for-byte copy of it, so I can completely restore it in case I make a mistake in my further experiments. Can someone kindly point me to a thread that explains how to do this?

Use dd (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dd_(Unix))

Do you have enough space elsewhere to store the image?

If you tell us where, then someone will give you the exact command line you'll need to use.

Oh, well, I was hoping to store the image (on the fly) on my PC, through either BT or USB cable. [edit] or, let's see, maybe rdesktop and expose some drives...some kind of ssh connection to drives?

Many Thanks!!

Well, I finally connected with the USB cable and used Acronis TrueImage to make a backup. Not the most general solution, but whatever works.
