Okay I tried to search and couldn't find anything specific, hence the reason for me asking this question:

Does anyone else experience a lag with the Wayfinder software, as I'm driving along I ALWAYS seem to be a couple of seconds ahead of the software - Really bugs me when driving in a built up city/town area's, as I end up driving past the actual turning required as the maps don't appear to be refreshing quickly enough....

I'm using a N800, running OS2008 with Wayfinder Maps, hooked up to a Nokia LD-3W GPS receiver.

Is the problem with the Wayfinder software or is it something to do with the LD-3W ?

I'm looking for a solution before I chuck the whole lot out the window in fury.... and go off and buy a Garmin Nuvi

I have the same set-up and have not experienced a lag. Do you have anything running in the background or is the tablet contantly seeking a connection?

Connectivity>Search interval

I've had nothing running in the background to my knowledge, but it is possible that the N800 was constantly seeking a connection - I have changed the connectivity> search interval settings to never to see if that makes a difference.

I'm off to have another play.

Many thanks

If you look at some of the other threads, a couple of people (including me) have noticed that wayfinder seams to be a little behind when it comes to telling you distance remaining. e.g. it shows as 200 yards remaining on the motorway exit when you are already there.

Annoying, but not the end of the world. Not sure if that is what you are refering to.

Hi Zuber,

I agree it's not the end of the world if on a motorway, but when trying to navigate around a unfamiliar city with road & turnings every 20 or 30 yards (such as London or Manchester for example) - It's a real pain in the backside.

It annoys the hell out of me.......
