since wifi wont work immediatly i used a ethernet cable to download both the 0s2008 bin file and the 3.0 flasher for x86. now go to applications and open xterm and follow the instructions on the cnet site....http://www.cnet.com/surveillance-sta....html?tag=head
Just one thing extra.
After opening do the following
cd Desktop
chmod a+x ./flasher-3.0
./flasher-3.0 -u -F RX-44_2008SE_1.2007.42-18_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin
after unpacking
sudo ./flasher-3.0 --enable-rd-mode
sudo ./flasher-3.0 -k zImage -f
sudo ./flasher-3.0 -n initfs.jffs2 -f
sudo ./flasher-3.0 -r rootfs.jffs2 -f -R
And that is it you are done.
I am a linux noob and i assure you tat it is a lot easier than it looks.
And dont worry about bricking it... just follow the instructions and you will hvae os2008.
