unable to refresh app manager, is this common prob? any fix yet?...

It really depends on the time of day and the stability of the repos you have installed... It's not really an OS issue.

Just to show we don't always answer with: "USE THE FRAKKING SEARCH, IDJIT!", here goes:

It usually means there's something wrong with the list of repositories; either you've entered the wrong information or (in 99.99% of cases) the repository is offline or frakked up. Application Mangler maintains a log file from which you can usually make out the culprit. Just check that (or those) repositories to not update and you should be hunkadory.

NEXT TIME USE THE SEARCH, YOU IDJIT!!!!!!!
