Just wondering if everyone else out there is having the same problems as I am.

I installed OS2008 yesterday off of Mininova because I couldn't get if off of the main site.

It's been about 24 hours now and I've only been able to install 1 application, Skype, which works fine.

I've tried SEVERAL times to download several other applications without success. In my Application Manager the download window seems to always get hung up on 6kb, 7kb or 15kb when trying to download. After a few minutes it timesout.

I've been trying to download the "maemo Extras" repositories and a few other Apps like Mplayer and a few games without any success.

Is the Maemo server that bogged down???

Is anyone else having success in downloading anything??

Please help if you can.

Thanks,

Harv from Canada.

Wow, not what I was expecting.

Well let me climb aboard my Millennium Falcon, swoop down and bast those silly glasses off you face. Then I'll jump out and light saber your ***.

Ha Ha...just kidding.

What I am hoping to find is someone that may have posted any Apps on one of their own servers for people to grab from.

Harv, Yes everyone is having the same problems. The repository servers are all bogged down terribly & has been for awhile now due to the upgrade. If you can I suggest waiting a few days and trying again once the dust has settled.

Nah, it's just funny because there must be a million posts by now of people asking the same question...
Actually those goggles are part of a 3d immersion system which is really quite cool! (but man do they look goofy!)

I updated lastnight . And so far i have installed
rdesktop
Mplayer beta for 2008
UKMP
FBreader
Skype
gizmo
camera
GPScamera
maemomapper
Media Streamer
Quiver image

The trick to get them installed is do not restore any of your backup's only or doc and bookmarks . There is other post about not restoring your backup. (it worked this way as it was the 2nd flash for me) then go to the master list of repos and down load the ones you need. next you will see that it is slow !!! thats fine cuz more than 1/2 of them programs i listed you can go get the DEB's for them from https://garage.maemo.org/
Now the number one program i am working on is " Canola2 Media Player " Thay do not have the deb files for this just the install . I was looking at the install but it looks like it download more than one deb that i have not found.. I will keep trying ..

Good luck to all hope this helps ...
