Can anybody tell me why is it recommended not to leave the tablet in rd mode? I always use it in rd mode, cause i use root functions in xterm a lot.

Thanks

The most-notable difference is that the power button doesn't have to be held down for a long time in order to power up the device in R&D. It's too easy to switch it on accidentally.

Thanks for the post pycage. Yes I observed that, and i like the "feature" if I can call it that way. I am more on the run and it seems more effective this way. (Anyway I always let it turned on, with the keys and touchscreen locked).

About the RD mode, some say that it drains the battery faster. I haven't seen any difference. Can anyone confirm this? And maybe give an explain (it seems rather illogically).

My 770 was running in RD mode for about a year. I didn't experience any drawbacks.

well, RD mode turns on the serial pins next to the battery, and so supposedly, this drains power, but if i had to guess, it's so minuscule, that it only changes battery life by maybe a few minutes, if not, seconds.
