Suddenly, my PC (running XT) won't recognize the N800 when connected through the USB port. Prior to this I could transfer files and it was recognized as an external drive.

This morning, it would not recognize it. I was briefly able to get it to work by holding down the home key and switching on the unit. My PC recognized it as new hardware and everything was fine but then three hours later nothing.

Now I don't even get the error message from Windows that an unknown device was installed. The cards are recognized by N800, and I get a notification that the device is connected via USB, but nothing from the PC.

Any suggestions?

Reboot PC. Remove battery on N800, reinsert battery, restart N800.

I had this problem once, and it was related to my desktop PC since my notebook had no issues reading the N800 even though I didn't restart the N800.

Thanks. That seems to have done the trick.

Let's hope it doesn't continue to happen.
