If you have bootmenu installed, or a sd card boot setup, you can run:
Code:
mkdir /tmp/flash && mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtdblock4 /tmp/flash
Thanks to the posters at http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...d.php?p=161464 , I was able to get a tar.gz dump of the flash sent to my computer.

Thank you, qwerty12.

You mean I can boot up my device from internal SD card or an external SD card, then I can mount the flash memory to get the data, is that right? But I didn't install the boot menu before, is there anyway I can work around that?

thanks,

If you have an SD card boot setup, you can use the --set-root-device option in flasher.

Is it setup by default in OS2008? I don't think I touched anything about this. Regarding the SD card boot, is it a boot loader? thanks.

Now I'm not sure what you mean by "flash memory"? If you mean info on your mini-SD card, then yes, pull it out and use a card reader. If you mean the internal memory (not the SD card), then plug the unit into the PC with the USB cable that came with the N810.

I think it is the 256M internal memory shipped with device. I try to connect the device with my PC via the USB cable but no USB device shows up, is internal memory supposed to show up in PC without OS2008 booting up appropriately?

The internal 257M Flash doesn't appear in the PC.
The internal 2GB mmc card will show, though.
You can take out the external mmc (if you have one) and read it in a PC with a sdhc memory card reader. It will show on your PC when you use the USB cable, too.
You can:
copy from flash to mmc (internal or external) and then backup to PC via USB cable
or connect to your PC via wifi and upload the files
or connect to internet via wifi and send your files by email
or ...

Thanks for reply. The problem is that my device cannot boot up, so it seems impossible to copy from flash to mmc...
