I have a NIT 770. I have 2007 HE on it now, but I am thinking about going back to 2006, so the following questions could apply to either OS:

I want to use the GPE apps (mostly calendar and contacts) for my calendar and contacts information, which I have (had) on my Treo. What is the best way to get contact info from either Outlook or Palm Desktop into GPE Contacts? Similarly, is there a way to import calendar events into GPE Calendar?

When I use Clawsmail or the default email and I look select the contact, or address book, button to select a persons email, my contacts that are in GPE contacts don't show up. Are they stored in a different database than the default contacts app uses? Is there a way to get the contacts copied over from the GPE database to the default database?

Thanks,
Ed

I'm in the middle of the same conversion, but only have the calendar events done. There are number of ways you can do it. If you have the calendar events in outlook, you can probably export them in .ics format and import them in GPE calendar. It can take a while if you have a lot of contacts and the program seems frozen, but have faith - it will come through eventually (or not)

OK, so I got the contacts down also. I exported them from Palm Desktop as one big vCard. GPE Contacts couldn't import it directly because of an "invalid character" so you might have to import it to some less picky contacting software (I used KAddressBook) first and export again from there.

Again, the import does take it's sweet time and the system seems frozen, but faith manages

One point to add to last message, the todo items are imported alongside with the calendar events. You better purge all completed tasks, because at least for me they came in marked as not completed.

Take a look at this thread. There is a good spreadsheet posted by DJames1.
