Hello guys,

I have been waiting forever for the A2dp support either officially/unofficial. When we had os 2007 we could use kaju and stream the audio but after the Os2008 A2dp has been completely forgotten.

A few questions:

1. What is the status of A2dp in os2008? It was supposed to be supported inherently but how come no one could use it?

2. Will kaju/canola ever give us A2dp support or wait till the official support? And what happened to the previous a2dp support by kaju??

3. The most mind boggling thing i dont understand is that.....My nokia 6300 series 40 handset with a very underpowered processor and miniscule ram compared to that of the n800/810 can still stream A2dp very well but why not my internet tablet??

Please guys someone work on A2dp. It is a wonderful feature for the tablets.

1) A2DP support doesn't exist in OS2008 without a hack. But the hack has issues like 50% cpu usage.

2) Probably have to wait till official support.

3) No idea, lack of foresight?

Thank you very much for the reply.

But os2007 was only 333mhz wheras os 2008 is @ 400 mhz. A2dp worked on os 2007 then why not in os2008 using the kaju hack??
I would take it even if it had 50% usage. Well i think when most people use A2dp we generally do not use the tablet for anything else.... so i can definitely live with 50% usage. So please tell me how to hack it and make it working .
In fact in those good old days i used internet radio and also streamed it via bluetooth at the same time using mplayer and xterm. That was the best use for my n800.

I've reported this elsewhere in related threads, but here goes again: I too loved using a2dp in Kagu (which incidentally I believe was a Milhouse not Kagu hack) with my N800. As I can no longer do that with the new firmware, I have purchased on the internet for between $20 and $30 a Bluetooth mp3 dongle which plugs into the N800 headphone jack and enables me to use my Bluetooth Motorola headphones with all its various N800 media players. And it works fine, with no initial static.

Yes, even I have been thinking about getting a bluetooth headphone, but having to add an extra Bluetooth Adapter to the N810 kind of defeats the purpose of having a clean setup in your pockets - just the N810 and the headphones.

But I guess thats the last option remaining until we get a official A2DP release (if ever).
