For things such as adjusting the size of a re-sizable frame in a browser window you need to use a left mouse button down and drag action.

I have a great deal of difficulty getting this to work on either an 770/OS2006 or an N800/OS2008. I can get it to work maybe 1 time out of 20. (Double tap and hold down the second tap). There is no visible feedback to show that you have a left button held down and if you get it wrong then various other actions take place.

Is there any way to make this work better?

Just stylus down and drag. No double-tapping req'd.

When I do this it either moves the entire browser window surface or it brings up some sort of property box for bookmarks, etc...

Google maps is one example that I have problems with, but this page is a nice test-case:
