So I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I'm having some issues with the iGo Stowaway keybooard. I'm using the kb to type this post and by now you have likely picked up on all the duplicate letters in some of these words. This is quite fffrustrating. Is this something I need to get used to or is there a way to fix this. I'm using it with my N800 on the latest release of OS2008 (as of last weeek). Any help or link to another similar thread where this has been resolved/discussed before would be appreciated (i've searched for such links with not much luck).
Thanks.

can you adjust the 'repeat' rate of the keyboard? If not is it on a solid even surface? If there is any play below the keyboard that could be a contributing factor.

This seems to be an issue specific to this keyboard. The other, I believe a Stoway as well, doesn't seem to have this issue.

unfortunately, any fix to this will have to be community driven. iGo has shut down support operations towards this keyboard and other accessories.

A search for " igo keyboard repeat" on these forums yields:

This thread does not point to an iGo problem.

I'd say it would be a repeat rate issue if the problem occured when I'm typing slowly. The faster I type the more frequent the problem becomes.

oh, really? Now that is certainly weird!!! Interesting weird not creepy weird....

Then it might seem to be more of a hardware issue. You could try reseating all the key caps. You know that them off, use your vaccum and clean it out really well, then replace all the keycaps. Ummm, take a picture of the top of the keyboard first, you know just in case...winkwink...

I am not really familiar with BT so I am not sure if there is something that could interfere with the timing on the send/ack or if it even does a send/ack and just sends in one direction or the other.

You know, now that I think about it, I often get repeated characters using the onscreen keyboard on my N800. I have always assumed this was just because i either lingered too long when tapping or that I did had some sort of rebound tap I could not feel. Not sure if there might be something in common or not. I don't now how or where the keycodes are processed.

If nothing else this sure is a fun device...no real fatal falws but just learning one new thing everyday....I really am enjoying this...

Thanks for the link. From reading the other thread it does seem to be a repeat delay or keypress read issue. Almost like the OS or firmware has a stutter....but these too can be fixed.

Hi, there, I use an iGo BT Stowaway keyboard, with an N800 running OS2008. I have none of the key repeat issues you mention... It might be a hardware issue?
