Hi there,

now, Garnet VM is running (N810 version on N800 with OS2008), and Smartlist To Go 3.003 was easily installed and registered. But is there a way to transfer existing smartlists w/o hotsync?

I tried installing them via SD card and Garnet VM but no luck, Smartlist To Go won't find any smartlists.

Google or the Access homepage did not provide any help, maybe someone here already uses Smartlist To Go?

*sigh* It is sooo easy on my Treo with StyleTap and Windows Mobile, just beaming everything needed

...well, I tried again... but...

After changing batteries and thus rebooting, the smartlists installed from the SD card were found. But... though the list of smartlists shows up correctly, the views with the records are not working at all. I have smartlists with thousands of records and I'm able to tap them - blindly, as they are not shown. This happens the same if I create a new smartlist on the N800 or new views. Zooming in or out (inside Smartlist To Go) doesn't help either.

There are lots of problems:
- no text in tabs, though it's there when I edit tabs
- no "filter" or "view" drop down menu visible but it's there
- first (invisible) record on screen above filter/view drop down menus
- records are not shwon correctly when edited (no labels)
- sometimes alternating green and white lines - but empty
- no scrollbars for long smartlists
- ...

If no one else has any ideas, Smartlist To Go doesn't seem to work, at least not under Garnet VM beta

Dunno about SmartLists but I wonder if it uses a file different from the db file for holding the view information. In HandBase, for a given database "databasename.pdb" there might be a "databasename_HDF.pdb" file for the form definition information. I had to install both files for the one database.

For each database there's only one file "TD2_[...].pdb" - the prefix meaning ThinkDb2, the old name of the application before DataViz owned it. As I don't like installing programs like Hotsync, ActiveSync etc. I usually copy the file via SD card to my PC (and back) when I need to work with Smartlist's desktop application. So far, never ran into trouble.

But thanks nonetheless

Same problem. The application itself seems to be working. The TD2_[...].pdb files can be transferred via SD card, and the records ARE there, but they can't be seen. Only tapping blindly shows the individual records.

I am also wondering whether another .pdb or .prc is missing, but it is not very likely. Might reinstall to Palm from PC to see what files are installed in the original setup. If this works it will make the transition from Palm to Tablet much smoother.
