Greetings all - without reading every post on this site could someone tell me if there is a PDA application software that I can simply install in the N800 and have it work? I have read about GPE but it seems far too complicated for me to install and make work. Is there an alternative ? Thank you ahead of time.

the best I have been able to get working is moving to the Google Apps stuff...not idea at all but I am hoping some developers with more experience in desktop apps begin to take interest in the NIT's...I mean just how many video/audio players or image viewers does a platform really need? We need real world stuff beyond just multi-media.

Simple Date, calendar, and todo list.

Thanks for that posting. The pimlico site is refreshingly clean and fast. I downloaded the Task app, and except for the difficulty in choosing a due date, find this easy to use. Very promising!

Haven't yet tried to install - but can I sync the Pimlico stuff with anything on my desktop - and if so with what?

The Calendar can be read-only with a google calendar.

That's it.

I initially was confused as to how to download the GPE suite, but I finally figured it out and it does the trick. In addition you can import your Google contacts and calendar to boot.

Just use your tablet to browse to this page:

http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008/office-business/

click on the green arrow "click to install"
for the first app: GPE Summary

That's it. Your application manager will handle the rest.

Good luck!
