Hi, I am thinking of getting a Nokia 770 but I was hoping someone could answer a few of my questions first. I know the 770 has MSN but can you browse the internet and have msn running still and it alerts you when you get a message?

Also in general how good are they? I know they struggle for videos etc but im not wanting it for that.

Thanks alot Tom

Of course, you can do a number of tasks at the same time. However, you might consider an N800 instead, as it would handle video quite a bit better.
Also, you'll be able to have more tasks running at the same time, because there's more ram. But, if browsing and messaging is all you really need, I guess it's not necessary to spend the extra bucks for an N800.

N800 is pretty cheap these days, but 770 is claimed better in some ways (hardware keys and slide-on cover). I would did go for the N800, but that's your decision.

Be aware there are no more updates to the 770 from Nokia; the N800 has at least one major upgrade guaranteed, and almost certainly as many as the N810. Also, a lot more community development targets the N8x0, though some notable apps like Modest and Canola do target all tablets.

Is the XDA II a phone? I can't really find much information on it. Remember the n770 is NOT a phone.

Well, the n770 certainly fulfills your needs. The web browsing on a 770 would probably be superior to that of the XDA II, mainly because of the resolution (800x480). The processor is a bit slower (think it's 250mhz), but I doubt you'll see web browsing speeds drastically slower on the 770.

While I have a 770 and it's a great machine, my biggest concern with buying one now a days would be the possibility of WSoD (search the forums) which affects a rather high percentage of the units. No fix for it except to send it into the black hole of Nokia support, with 800's dropping in price, I'd probably go that route now just to be safe.

Hi mate, I have searched the forum to find out what WSoD means and it does'nt sound to good. Because im not actually buying the 770 and the bloke im getting it off has had it for a while and had no problems with it so it mite not have that problem but im not sure as don't know much about the problem still. Is there anyway to prevent it or is it just like the blue screen of death on computers?

Thanks Tom
