Never could understand why Nokia sends you half a car mount, but I didn't want to do any drilling and needed a suction cup solution without breaking the bank.

Found this one:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1043

Remove the backplate on the padded holder and use the center hole to attach it directly to the adjustable bracket provided in the box with your N810.

This is what you need from the hardware store and I'll list them in the order they are installed:

1 - 4mm x 30mm bolt (I used a hex head, but you want something with a fairly thin head to sit in the recessed part of the backplate.
1 - #8 flat washers
Backplate (see photo)
2 - 3/16 x 1 1/4 Rubber Washer (sometimes called Neoprene washer)
Nokia adjustable bracket (the half with the 4 mounting holes with screw removed)
1 - 4mm Stop Nut (sometimes called lock nut)

Nokia uses a 4mm thread, so the bolt needs to be screwed in the bracket and tightened from the head of the bolt first, then tighten the stop nut last.

You are done.

Some notes:
1. Find a large independent hardware store that has those little drawers with all the individual screws and bolts, look for the metric section. I don't think the big box stores like Home Depot allows you to buy just 1 or 2 of something.
2. Be careful when removing the backplate off the purchased holder, there are two tiny springs and ball bearings back there you might want to save for something else or reassembly.
3. For those who like to drill, you can also drill matching holes into the suction cup's mating mounting plate, but then you risk messing the whole system up. The bolting was nicer even though it required a little more thought.

If there is an interest, I'll take a photo of the final assembly.

It's a full car mount *if* you want to install it permanently.

But as has been mentioned many times in this forum, it's a universal mount so it's easily connected to a variety of solutions. This way Nokia didn't lock buyers into any one in particular and it would be unreasonable to expect the company to include every single mounting option available.

Anyway, thanks for adding one more solution!

I've been looking around for something with a long flexible arm to attach to my headboard for this purpose. I usually end up falling asleep watching videos in bed and I can never guess where it'll end up in the morning when I wake up.

There is a similar model of Panavise but with a ball and socket and hinge instead of a gooseneck. I posted about it a while ago.
