I am trying to watch an audio/video stream that can be played in either quicktime or as a java applet (from an IP camera on my LAN).

I know that the n800 does not allow me to view these streams directly, so I would like to see if I can use my pc and then use another program to get the stream. I tried rdesktop and VNC, and while they both work fine for the video stream, neither provides audio.

Maybe there is another way to do this? Thanks for your help

I thought rdesktop could provide audio; perhaps I remember wrong, though. (Quick question: if you can play it in quicktime, have you tried with both mplayer and the built-in media player? Even if the video codec is not available, you may be able to get the audio through that way.)

esd is probably your best bet, otherwise.
