Hello everyone. I just received my n810 in the mail earlier today and I couldn't be happier with the device--until about twenty minutes ago...I opened the device, the screen came on and there was a quarter inch wide row of lines down the middle of the screen.

It looks like a series of one pixel wides lines striped down the center of the screen for a quarter of an inch.

The lines appear as soon as I turn the n810 on (they appear over the Nokia logo and splash screen) as well as over anything else I bring up on the device.

I have not dropped, damaged or done anything with the device aside from connecting it via bluetooth to my cell-phone, adding my RSS feeds and podcast addresses.

I just reflashed the firmware and the lines are still there. I am beginning to think I received a faulty unit and will have to ship it back. Has anyone had a similar experience or have any advice?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a hardware problem to me.

If it's done this from the second you turned it on and you've not dropped it and damaged it and you've reflashed. Then my money is on a faulty unit. That's what warranties are for - ship it back and get a new one.

I second that. I wouldn't hang onto it especially if you picked it up from buy.com. They will only replace it for the first 2 weeks (I think) after that you will have to send it to Nokia for repair and that will undoubtedly take a few weeks.
