Hello everybody, this is my first post on this very good website. After a research on the forum, I didn't find anyone who managed to put qtopia on N800. I was wondering if someone succeeded finally. I'm fighting with my scratchbox and the sources to build it for n800 but there is always a problem during compilation. And when I fix a problem, another one appears. So I'm looking for hope (if someone tells me that he succeeded) and help maybe.
Hope I followed the chart with this message.
Thank you

Penguinbait has built the entire KDE for the tablets, which might interest you. Those threads are easy to find here with the search.

Qtopia could be better on the IT than KDE, imho, as it is built for smaller, touch-screen devices. I used to have a Zaurus, and there were a lot of cool apps and stuff available for it.

As for the original post, though, I haven't tried compiling Qtopia for the IT... but I do definitely think it could be a worthwhile endeavor.

Some news about my stuff. I succeeded in comiling Qtopia on for my nokia 770. I put it on the device and launched it. I can see some pictures of Qtopia but it is impossible to control the platform. When I click, I have the maemo desktop. I would want to stop the maemo desktop in order to have more ressources for Qtopia but I really don't know how to do.
Let's try again

I am looking forward to what you come up with. Being able to run Zaurus apps on my N800 would really save the day for me.

Some news. After a long works with the libraries, I almost succeeded in compiling Qtopia. The last step of the compilation is qpe, and I have this **** error, for which I didn't find any solutions. Maybe someone knows about this problem :
/qtopiacore/target/lib/libQtCore.so: undefined reference to `_dl_hwcap'
I read a lot of topics about this _dl_wcap but nothing helped me.
Have a good day all

Hello all, I finally managed to build and run Qtopia on my N800. It runs well but may be sometimes unstable. Every widgets works fine except SMS (which make the system crash). If someone is interested in the way to do that you can ask me and I'll translate my tutorial in english.
have a good day
