I have really ben enjoying last.fm in the car, but it skips badly when I switch towers or the signal is poor. It worked like a champ on the interstate though during long hauls in the midle of nowhere.

What want is to record the stream at home on the G network while I sleep and then consume it in the car later.

Anyone have any suggestions on software that might be available to to do this? It would be cooler if it chopped it up into song sized bits. I really do not car about the tagging or anything, I just want to record the music.

It is kinda amusing as an aside. I am partcipating in an arbitron survey of radio. It is all podcasts and internet radio for me :-)
