Hi there. I've been playing with my nifty new N800 that I've had for a week now (and what a blessed week it has been. I've been on my computer all of 5 hours compared to 40+ that I'd usually be on in a week. This tablet has been well worth the $93 I've paid for it.) and I've run into some things I don't know too much about.
First off, FTP, or SSH. Whatever I need to put files on the N800 through wifi. I've become exceptionally lazy, and that walk to the computer to put in my SD card is just ever so far (Pitiful!). I've got OpenSSH and gFTP on the N800, and Filezilla on the computer.
The problem I run into, is well... I have no clue where to go from there. I had a FTP thing on my wii, and it was simple. Input the ip that the wii gave me, and I was good to go.
Remote access. I'd love to be able to view my computer's screen without actually being there. And to watch some flash videos that aren't youtube.
I got VNC viewer on the N800, and TightVNC Server running (i had realVNC server but I don't run it.) And well... I can't seem to connect 'cause I have no idea what to do.
Another thing I'd love to be able to do is open Personal menu and be able to click a self-made button that says, "Turn off." "Reboot" "Turn Screen off." "Lock Screen and Buttons." But I don't know the commands. I'm sure that's all you need to know for an addition to Personal Menu.
And lastly, a simple addition to the default battery icon, or a new icon. I want to view the percentage of battery left. I installed Advanced Power Monitor, but the program itself took an hour off my battery life, so I felt it was counter-productive.
I've searched these questions, promise. I've youtubed them, also. But I haven't been able to get help.
Also! Off-topic-ish, what would be the cheapest digital FM transmitter? I have one, but It can only broadcast to stations 88.1,.3,.5,.7 and 107.1,.3.,5,.7. Unfortunately, there are radio stations that are already there that make my transmitter perform horribly with lots of hiss.
Thanks even if you begin to READ this thread, much less than offer help. It's an eyeful, I know.
