I'm working on a project that needs to constantly be in touch with an AP. If the current AP goes down, we need it to pop over to a new one in very short order, (minute or less). We were planning on using the built in scanner, but the interval only goes down to 5 minutes. Too high an interval. Is there another available out there or is there a conf file that I can edit on the N810 to set this for a much lower scan rate?

Whoo-hoo! In looking around the forums, I found a possible solution to this:

AutoAP can most likely be adapted to work for us.

Or you could try getting gconf-editor and looking in system/osso/connectivity/network_type and try changing search_interval there. It's in seconds I assume. If you try it and it works, tell me. I'm curious.

EDIT: nevermind. it appears anything under 300 seconds ends up interpreted as never. Sad.
