Now that mplayer is released under Diablo, I thought I would try kmplayer - the mplayer gui is a bit basic. However, for some reason, a video that plays beautifully with mplayer, is jerky and out of lip-sync on kmplayer. I have set the player in kmplayer to 'mplayer', is there something else I should have done?

Both mplayer and kmplayer are the versions currently available on the standard Diablo repositories.

Probably kmplayer is using some slow backend for playing.

btw Canola can use mplayer, search the forum how to enable it.

I thought that was the point - the backend is mplayer, no?

@Des: I meant video output and audio output.

@El Amir: for video only i think. Anyway, you're right, he only needs to install it.

Interesting, I think it has to do with kmplayer defaults to '-vo xv' and mplayer uses default the '-vo omapfb'.
I'll add an option to toggle to omapfb. It does leave some artifacts when toggling from fullscreen to normal view with omapfb but indeed the video looks smooth.

i have also noticed some choppiness with kmplayer. I noticed this problem with Canola as well. I had thought it was just the groovy graphics slowing things down, but if anyone knows a way to change this setting, I'd love to give it a try.
