My first 770 died (gray screen of death) after only 24 hours of use in early June, so I returned it to Fry's in Sunnyvale. I started using my second 770 last week. Picked it up at a CompUSA here in Silicon Valley.
So far this one has crashed or rebooted itself at least five times during the first few attempts to view websites (Yahoo.com, Mac.com, Google.com, etc.). I was hoping to use this device on an upcoming trip and leave my PowerBook at home, but all this rebooting while viewing websites isn't too productive or confidence inspiring.
Is there an update to the stock browser? Any tips on using this to check email? Thanks.
I did the obvious and updated my 770's software (Nokia_770_SE2005_5_2006_13_7.bin). It took three attempts to get it to work (the updater crashed on my PC twice), but I finally was able to update the OS. The browser seems more stable so far.
