I couldn't find any 770 version among the forest of ads either. There appears to be a PC version, but it's only free for 30 days. There's no mention of it in the Application Catalog, so I have no idea how Nokia chose to put it up in the Hacks and Apps Gallery.

Is that a good idea, though, running a high-frequency sound through the 770's tiny, tiny speaker? Sounds potentially damaging, although I'm speaking from ignorance.

There would be no danger running this. Not to a human, or any animal for that matter.

I am an audio engineer, so perhaps less ignorant on this subject?

What would surprise me is the idea that the 770 would be truly capable of producing a tone right at the top of Nyquist when operating at 96k sample rate.

This is the bare minimum required to produce a frequncy up around 48 kilohertz. This not only means 96k rate, but a speaker capable of prducing a tone nearly two octaves above normal adult human hearing - and at a meanigful volume level.

For that matter this level of frequncy respone requires a specialized speaker in most cases. I would imagine the average laptop might also fail here.

I am dubious about the effectiveness of this sofrware on just about any platform.

Sounds interesting, especially for my PC! At night I've been attacked numerous times by mosquitoes while playing games.

On another note, the maemo gaim link on that 770 page is bogus. No mention of the maemo version I could see anywhere in the sourceforge project. I only say that because I can't get maemo gaim to install (I get a message saying some of the required lib files on maemo hackers site are invalid). I was really hoping that link led to the right libraries...
