Hi,

i have the N770, N800, an old iPhone and a new Acer One A110L (8,9", 1GB RAM, 8 GB SSD) Netbook with Linpus Linux.

The new Google Android is coming in the next months and Apple always brings new patents to Touch Tablet

Now, I have the Nokia morphs future concept and OVI Portal seen

My questions:
  • When brings Nokia (finally, before others do it) a more developed Touch Tablet Phone with Linux ????
  • and can the competition Apple, Google and Microsoft overtaking

1.) Why your personal interest in the fact that such a device is made by Nokia? Or that Nokia introduces such a device before other do? Do you own Nokia shares?
2.) Why should it be based on a Linux Kernel?

Gadgets are cool, but as long as the platform is free and I like the device, I don't care much who sells it. (I'd even buy from the dark side of the iForce if they'd finally have a decent device that meets my needs.)

This device is not going to happen in the near future anywhere but in Photoshop: the display technology you are proposing does not exist.

Nokia is working on a touchscreen phone, but it'll be based on Symbian.

and that was something that was dreamed up in the 90's.

For the second part of your question, I don't believe that the mass population really cares that much whether it would be based on Linux or not. For the first part, S60 is coming out with their touch products soon.

That post doesn't even mention Linux.

..but it concerns the 'open source desktop' which is usable on Linux. Also, Canonical only develops for Linux. Chances are it'll be useful for e.g. KDE4 @ Windows as well though.
