Hello everyone:

Since a few months ago I have a Nokia N800 and is a marvel!. It lacks some power but I hope that the next Nokia Internet Tablet exceeded all our expectations.

I read to you very often but this is my first speech. My written English is very bad but I need your help. I wonder if I can use my N800 for the following:

- I'd like to connect a sound card with digital output to the N800. The sound card that I have is the Behringer UCA 202 with USB port and is supported by ALSA. I wonder if any of you has managed to get an external USB card works with the N800. I ask me what software I need and indicate the steps necessary to make it work.

- I am very interested to be able to use my computer remotely. I want to be able to control my N800 as if it were a terminal. I want to see the screen (or part thereof) and be able to start programs. I want my N800 is like a keyboard at a distance but with LCD display included. Is there any software that help me?

- I am very interested to be able to use my N800 Processing (http://processing.org). Does anyone could help me to be able to install it on OS2008 diablo?.

It is important that you know that my N800 is my first device with Linux and I use my programming skills are invalid.

I appreciate the help in advance.

Wok

P.D: I feel my poor level of English. I hope you can understand me.

Hi wok

Firstly don't be too apologetic about your english ... we are all from different cultures and its not a given that everyone will be good in English - as long as you are understandable.

About the sound card - I don't know if it will work.

About controlling the N800 remotely - or controlling your computer remotely from the N800 - both ways are possible with VNC software.

VNC consists of a server and a client.
Install the server on the computer, if you want to control the desktop remote;ly from the N800 - with the VNC client installed on the N800, or the other way if you want to control the N800 remotely from the desktop.

About processing, maybe it is too graphic intensive for it to work on the N800 (it doesn't have a seperate GPU etc). As of now I haven't heard of processing ported to the Maemo platform as yet.

Thanks for the information:

I'm very interested in that works with the sound card Maemo. It'ss 100% compatible with ALSA (Maemo is compatible with ALSA natively or I need to install any software?) and if the card is detected the next problem is how to make the sound card that comes out by external rather than internal.

What do you advise me as a server program for Windows?

Is there a tutorial for easy reading to adapt Processing to Maemo and see if my N800 has enough power for very simple projects?

Thanks again,

WOk
