Just posting this to remember it and because it took me quite a while to find out and others may be looking for it. If you use your internet tablet to listen to music, you may want to have it shut down after a specified time (other music players have a useful shutdown timer function for that).

You can achieve this by entering the following command on the X terminal (or running it from a file):

sleep 1800 && run-standalone.sh dbus-send --system --type=method_call --dest="com.nokia.mce" --print-reply "/com/nokia/mce/request" com.nokia.mce.request.req_shutdown
(the number behind "sleep" is in seconds, so 1800 is 30 minutes).

No root access required, runs from an unmodified N8X0.

That's nearly what I was looking for, for some time now.
Is it also possible to just end the media player or streamtuner with that command?

depending on who you speak to, the n8x0 already includes a preconfigured automatic shutdown command.

Though from what I hear it was partly removed in diablo
