Anyone know of any way to connect the N8XX to this Optoma Pico Projector? The video output looks like a headphone jack.

Yes, but you won't like it.

Can we get this feature built into the n900?

They did, at least for some of the presentations. qole's presentation, for instance, was run from a Nokia-owned tablet in which the kernel and other software had been enhanced to support a USB-to-VGA adapter.* Where that wasn't feasible, a document camera was used. I was underwhelmed by the quality of that unit though.

* Were Nokia to able to finally release these modifications, a USB-to-VGA adapter plus a scan converter would be another answer to the thread starter. However, the need for that scan converter would make this solution only slightly less ridiculous than the document camera one.

I must say though, it's a poor data projector that doesn't support at least RGB in this day and age, and while I understand trade-offs must have been made for size, that PICO projector doesn't even accept Y/C. That's a shame.

That Elmo link really tickled me.

The video-out from the tablet that I used at the summit was pretty underwhelming, too. I was all ready to wow the audience with smooth animations in OpenOffice, only to get something like 2-5 frames per second to the projector (it looked fine on the tablet's screen, however).

Yeah, without USB2.0 Highspeed host, those adapters are very slow.

So, there is no kernel driver in the wild for the USB VGA adapters for the NITs? The Zaurus community has had kernel drivers for at least one model of VGA adapter backported for some time now.

No, there is such support. It has not yet reached the level of the software qole used at the Summit, and being RGB, it won't readily work with the Pico Projector. Therefore, I didn't mention it.
