I was in a local K-Mart for some odd reason last night and I saw that they had a Universal Nokia car charger that came with a couple of different screw-on tips. The packaging claimed that it would work with all Nokia phones so I figured that for $10, it wouldn't be a big loss if it didn't work with my n800.

Well, it did. So for $10 I got myself a car charger for my n800.

Just thought I'd let other people know.

Before buying any charger for your N800/N810 you should check the DC current rating on the label. The Nokia cell phones draw much less current during operation so that you can run the phone while charging. Some chargers made for cell phones may not fully charge your battery if you keep your NIT operating. Or it may take twice as long to get a full charge. For instance, the USB chargers for NIT output about 500ma and will not perform as well as a NIT charger. The charger that I use with my N800 says 800ma on the label.

My N800 charger says 890mA on the label. But I have occasionally used a phone charger which could provide 390mA. It works fine, but it takes longer (as much longer as the difference in capacity as far as I can see).
