Strange. I installed it, and when I run it it says "loading" for a bit and then disappears. Any idea how I can troubleshoot this ? (bit new to the N800...)

Thanks for any assistance

as far as i have seen you have to have an active connection to a wireless network and be able to get to the internet for fingerprinting.

Both done already Brendan, wi-fi rattling away quite happily.

This device only has a couple of basic apps installed and has the latest OS update applied, it's pretty much as it arrived 7 days ago - so I'd doubt it's some incompatibility I've self-induced with something else.

edit: I'm never even seeing any user-interface or anything like that for it - is this something I should be running from a command-line perhaps ? Doesn't look like it from the autoscan.fr site, but perhaps...

Any other thoughts ?

Thanks

Not a command-line app. It has a GUI. I have it running on my n800, haven't really used it, just fired it up to make sure it's running.

Try running it from a xterm and look for any debugging messages printed there.

Err. OK that's odd.

This is the fifth time I've installed it - and it just works. Odd that it didn't the previous four times, each time has been direct from autoscan.fr.

It's not like I can do it differently each time, but whatever - it's working now.

Thanks all

OK, I spoke too soon. In the "Add network" wizard, I pick my private network (192.168.x.x) and then on "Where is located the network" I have to pick localhost as I don't have a remote agent. It tries to connect to 127.0.0.1 and times out after 5 seconds. Any ideas?

Running it from a terminal, there were some messages scrolling by about connection being refused, so I presume that the agent isn't starting. Is the agent a seperate package or something?

Sorry to be asking here, but even a babelfish translation of the dox at autoscan.fr didn't really help me..

Thanks
