Recently my much loved Rio Karma died, so I went out & bought a 32GB SHDC card and put it in the internal slot of my n800. I have ripped my CD collection to flacs, so I ran a small script which created another directory of mp3s - 3 days later I had everything converted (some 6000 tracks) and copied over to the SDHC card on the n800. Some observations - the metalayer crawler takes quite a while to index everything, so I left it plugged into the power until such time as all this was done. The media player takes a long time to switch views from say album lists to artist lists and is temporarily non-responsive. I have switched to Youamp as a result. I've also got some 1900 ebooks on the device in epub format, so often have to music going whilst using FBReader. I have an 8GB SDHC card in the external slot & use it for movies & the like. I plan on firing up scratchbox & teaching myself some Python, so I can do some tinkering around myself.
