I've spent the afternoon trying to get my wireless to work after upgrading to diablo. Was running chinook previously.

loaded version 4.2008.36-5

I am able to see access points, but cannot connect. my home access point is a linksys wrt54gs. Was previously using wep with 64 bit key running chinook. would not connect after the upgrade using wep, so switched the router to open mode. still unable to connect... all other machines in my home are able to connect to the linksys without issue.

I have a recieved a "network connection error" on occasion, but mostly receive "internet connection failed. unable to retrieve IP address from server. try again?"

I've tried to flash the n800 several times, with no change of status. Unfortutunately, i did not do a backup of the previous version. Didn't really feel the need at the time, since there was no userdata etc. that needed to be kept... now I'm sorry.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Mattv

Just attempted an upgrade to 5.2008.43-7. Still unable to connect wlan to my linksys wrt54g. Will have to downgrade again.

Can someone help me figure out how I can get this deficiency reported to the maemo crew?

Go to Control Panel -> Connectivity-> Connections

Delete the access point (maybe you even have duplicates in there) and then set it up again. It might help.

You also might want to try playing with powersaving (ie turn it off). It's under advanced on the last page of the connection wizard.

Thanks for your comments. I did figure it out.

There was a firmware update available for my linksys wrt54gs (version 5). I installed the firmware update, and the n800 connected right away, even via wep.

So... not a diablo issue.
