If Android runs on Nokia N8xx, why not skype lite running on nokia N8xx, right, I just love the new look!!

There is already a native port for Skype on N8x0. You can find it here although in latest Maemo versions it comes with the firmware.

Skype Lite uses J2ME which is a Mobile Edition of Java. This doesn't exist for Maemo. There are 3rd party full ports of Java for Maemo which are equivelant to J2SE which is the Standard Edition which you also run on your desktop. However, there is no J2ME.

While some applications are only compiled for J2ME, and while this is the case for Skype Lite, you have an official Skype port for N8x0 at your command.

You should consider to move to a SIP client so you're not bound to Skype for VoIP. SIP is an open standard which allows one to pick their own SIP client for which many exist; some even free. E.g. Grandcentral (now owned by Google) allows users to phone for free inside the US of A.
