I cannot get claws to send messages through gmail!! This is frustrating. I am sure all settings are correct . i have reinstalled claws 3 times and deleted the .claws-mail folder so that the steup wizard starts new. I have the correct ports for pop3 and smtp and I keep getting session timed out even after increasing the timeout value. It receives mail just fine.

Are you sure you checked the option to use ssl? I'm using gmail with imap, but sending is still smtp(s) and it works fine with claws.

I am having the identical problem, i followed all the settings perfectly, at least according to a few different guides i can't find at the moment, and i have the two way sync, i can receive, archive and delete just fine, but sending doesn't work, any message i want to send gets moved to the [Imap]/Sent tag in gmail, i have been just sending it to myself to test, but i don't see how that would break it.
