Is there any sort of a camera application tool that would allow for making pictures by using the N810 device with some button on the edge of the tablet?

I mean it'll be great to use the tablet as a regular camera.

Yes, liqbase.

Liqbase is very multi-purpose, and I couldn't find any way of viewing the recorded images and how to download them into the computer in an appropriate format (jpg). Are there any other tools?

"Recent Pictures" in liqbase should do the trick.

Yes, liqbase saves photos an PNGs. If JPG is what you need, a conversion would be necessary.

There are other camera tools. I don't know of any others that use a hardware button as a shutter release though. Admittedly, I've tried very few camera apps.

Is there an easy way of accessing the images from the File Manager or whatever other utility in order to download them onto the computer?

andrey999, the current liqbase stores images in a specific user folder.
when you start the app it displays the folder name in use.

if you were to (for instance) setup a symlink from somewhere in MyDocs to the liqbase media folder it will be accessible as you expect.

someone else can fill you in on the details.

incidentally, if you or others are interested in .jpg output from the camera then you will have to code it up once the toolkit is released (or find someone who can), as with lots of things there is simply too much to do it all myself and PNG suits me better than jpg at this point.

a newer version of liqbase will be released soon, I might allow automatic saving to completely different more accessible location by default, but again its not a personal priority yet.

  1. Open the Applications menu.
  2. Tap "Utilities".
  3. In the Utilities sub-menu that opens, tap "X Terminal".
  4. In the X Terminal window that opens, type (or cut-and-paste) exactly the following:
    Code:
    ln -s /home/user/.liqbase/sketches/ MyDocs/.images/liqbase
  5. Press/tap enter.
  6. Close X Terminal.
A "liqbase" directory will then be available under "Images" from within the File manager.

Is there an easy way accessing it through USB so that I'll be able to download these files to a computer?
