Can anyone explain how mouse input is handled on the tablet especially right click?

I was playing TMW today and I realized you can not right click to bring up the popup menu for trading (or any of the other options).

I really dont know if it is even possible, but I would like to 'try' and make right mouse clicks work, rather than trying to turn some keypress into a right click but I really have no idea how maemo handles it.

Thanks in advance...

In FreeCiv there were some long clicks similar to tap_and_hold, you can check how they made them. In fact there were normal, middle and long.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I think it doesn't matter what I can make work for a right click. In this game it will ALWAYS interfere or not work smoothly. Clicking on someone starts an attack, so instead of trading you would be attacking. moving is also done by clicking and holding so if I did a long click or a medium click or something it would break the ability to hold the pen in front of your toon and make him run...

I will work on adding a 'p' key or something for popup menu. (gotta look and see what the default keys are for everything and then try and find the mouse click code and set a key trigger to do the same thing..,

onward to the code!

if the popup is essential for the game, I would recommend assigning a key which is found from both N800 and N810. Menu key would be natural selection if it isn't used for something else

That is a valid point, I use my N800 as a test machine anyway so I can make sure it works on that as well as a N810, though having played the previous version of this game on a N800 you really can't play it properly without a bluetooth keyboard. there are too many keys necessary and I personally COULDN'T STAND typing on the xkbd in a game like this.

As far as it being essential, well no, I suppose it isn't essential at that, just that you can not open a trade window without it. You could always ask the person you are trading with to open it. Unless of course it is another N8x0 user...

The menu button (I keep forgetting that is there) which is an F4 is defaulted to the equipment window. Which I KNOW used to work, but as I just tried it on my N810 none of the F keys are working at the moment. I must have missed something somewhere. Anyway, I can look into changing the F4 to make the popup work and change the default for equipment to something else.

OK so in beating on this a bit, I really didnt like any of the solutions I came up with. However I did come up with a crazy thought. Why not just add the right click to a left click?

That way when you click on someone you get a menu asking what to do. There are issues with that of course, because if you click down by the name you still auto attack, which is well, annoying. but if you click higher up the player, say about the waist, you get the right click menu.

This way you can still run around using left click, attack monsters with a left click but access the popup menu with it as well...

Whatcha think?
