Hi,
I am using a N800 and want to use VoIP with it. My Ekiga works on my PC, but I was not able to configure the default application to use my (SIP) VoIP server.

Ekiga requires only 4 data to register:
- Account Name (irrelevant)
- Register (the server machine)
- user
- password

How do I enter these data on the "Internet Call" application Accounts?

Thanks!!
L.

If you're using diablo, just add a sip account.
Ekiga echo server seems to be working fine here (I haven't tested much more with ekiga, making calls through voipbuster and eutelia works, though I cannot take calls from eutelia, a thing that used to work some time ago).

Yes, I am using diablo, and I added a SIP account, but it does not connect, giving a connection error. The SIP account dialog has many fields, as opposed to the only 4 fields of Ekiga (why?).

Ekiga echo server seems to be working fine here (I haven't tested much more with ekiga, making calls through voipbuster and eutelia works, though I cannot take calls from eutelia, a thing that used to work some time ago).
Perhaps I should install Ekiga and forget about the N800 Internet Call application? If so, where do I find Ekiga for the N800?

Thanks!!!
L.

Internet Call app needs 3 things:
1 username
2 server
3 password

Click on 'advanced' --> Authentication, and put your username/password as well.

I have 2 SIP accounts setup this way with no troubles.

Leave all other settings @ default....

It worked!! Well, at least partially... I am connected to my VoIP server (that happens to be my work), but I get "Call disconnected" to anything but a phone number at my work. Strangely, with Ekiga from my PC I am able to call home. Any idea why?

Thanks!!

It may be a codec mismatch. The tablet's agent supports:

Code:
m=audio 7078 RTP/AVP 96 18 8 0 13 97
c=IN IP4 81.187.82.182
a=rtpmap:96 iLBC/8000
a=fmtp:96 mode=30
a=rtpmap:18 G729/8000
a=rtpmap:8 PCMA/8000
a=rtpmap:0 PCMU/8000
a=rtpmap:13 CN/8000
a=rtpmap:97 telephone-event/8000

It works now. The difference was that, in Ekiga, you have to register with the actual server (machine.domain), and with the N800 only with the domain.

Thanks to you three for the help!!

Best,
L.

Glad you got it working. The default app for SIP is quite nice!
