help! cant use applcation manager which is not working because of “malformed line 3 in source list etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)”

ordinarily that looks like something i could maybe edit or delete and fix but the problem is i dont have an editor on my 770 and now i cant download one because they all seem to need application manager! any ideas?

Well, you could go into R&D mode, copy sources.list to mmc, put the mmc in a card reader edit it on a PC then copy it back, but it's probably easier to reflash.

If you can become root, you can use the vi editor.

Had the same exact issue today. Turns out that a repsitory was causing the problem. I fixed it by deleteing the last repository i had added to application manager. As soon as i had deleted the repository http://home.ufam.edu.br/~agan/minimo/ application manager refreshed and all is well now.

Ya ... it appears that trailing slashes are important in repo addresses and component names ... leave them out when they are supposed to be there and apt-get (via the application manager) doesn't like it
