I don't know if anyone else has had sucess with the Clear Protector brand screen protector, but I hate it. I don't doubt that it does what the manufacturer claims that it does, BUT it is NOT worth the agrevation it takes to install it. The one I got was able a millimeter too long, but by far the biggest problem is the fact that the material itself stretches. You are supposed to wet it, and then squeegee out the water from between the protector and the screen. If it's too wet, it just freely floats around, so the trick is to apply it just dry enough to hold its place. I could handle that, but as I ran the squeegee over the piece, it would stretch so the far end would bunch up against the rim. I litterally peeled and repositioned the product more than 30 times before I finally took the scissors to it to make it smaller. That actually helped, but every time I re-peeled a failed attempt, it was imparting these barely perceptable creases in the material. Ultimately I end up with a reasonably well-fitting protector, but it had a very subtle "texture" from all the stretching and previous struggles I had with it. Finally I just removed it, and decided I'm much happier without it. That was among the mostly frustrating wastes of 90 minutes ever. My recomendation, just don't bother.

it is not the product, it is the installation process..

one quick spray with windex on the install side of the protective product (any one), install & position, then a quick spray (windex also) to top side of installed protector, then squeegee out beginning from center, in all directions..
this method works with any screen protector (or decal).
it is the only correct method to use when installing any type of decal/protective coating on another surface..

hope this helps...

i have the same screen protector (I ordered the full body one). I did not have any issues with the installation except for the sides. Within few days of usage, screen protector got couple of scratches and the sides started to peel off. Overall, it's an OK protector but not as good as the manufacture claim it to be.

I am using the one from zagg and its not bad. The material feels fine on the back of the device but it does not feel so good on the front - more of a sticky feeling to it... After seeing how easily the n900 scratches though I am happy to have it applied.

2 days ago i removed the protector i had installed after purchase as my n900 got unresponsive on touch pretty often. The effect was that it looked like the device did not recognize the release of the touch or that it received another touch event from anothe location of the screen. After the effect remained over a reflash with the original firmware, I suspected the screen protector and removed it and the problem immediatly vanished. Also the effect had only appeared approx 2 month after the protector got installed, so in case anyone here has similar issues, maybe remove the protector before reflashing the unit. I don't have the brand of the protector at hand but will add that info if i should still have the packaging.

Edit: The packaging of the original and problemativ protector is already gone, I only kept the two additional protectors in it. However my new one which seesm to work petty fine and was easy to install is froma company called displex (www.displex.com). Note: I live in germany, so no idea if this brand is just a rebrand of some other protector for the local market or if it's a real manufacturer.

I just bought 3 x screen protectors from Ebay for $5 shipped. It's as perfect as I would want. Very scratch resistant, crystal clear and feels as if it's not even put on. People don't even realise that I have a screen protector on it. Feels like glass and I don't lose a single bit of responsiveness. Can't be more perfect imo. You also get 3 of them so even if you stuff one up, it's OK. =P
