As a fellow newby who is trying to find a calendar app, I ran across a post that might be your problem.
Unless you have changed some preference somewhere, mCalendar may have automatically capitalized the first letter of your password.

Im having some issues with mcalendar. Basically it says my login information for my Google account is wrong....but its not. So im not really having an issues syncing like other have posted, i cant even get that far. Does anyone have some insight on this for me?
