As I have reluctantly, after much agonizing, effected a purchase through this forum of an almost-new N800 while still very happy with my 770, and after having fairly-well reviewed this forum for comparisons of the two models, and after several months having gone by since the N800's introduction on the market and members of this forum having utilized it, I would now most welcome some relatively succinct wrap-up assessment of the substantive (not surface or superficial) advantages, if they exist, of the N800 over the 770. I guess I need, if such an overview is available, some reassurance that I've now made a wise -- and necessary -- decision. Any volunteers?

You buy well. New machine is cool.

That's about as concise as I could get it.

I have both, 770 and 800.

800 is faster, has more memory/storage and has a better sound, but after installing OS2007 hacker's edition I've found myself going back to the 770.

I like 770 much more then 800, mainly because of the cover and the cooler look'n feel.

I think 770 is more "portable" than 800, I can just put the cover on and slip it in my pocket, the same is not true for 800.

Just a very personal opinion of course.

In my opinion the look of the device and whether I can fit it into my pocket is irelivent, as the operating system and software will determine the outcome.

Also if you wear tight jeans, most likely you wont be able to fit the n800 in your pocket, but I tend to wear alot of loose fit jeans, valour tracksuits, cargo pants so the n800 can fit in most of the deep pockets and doesn't really feel that heavy to bother me while im walking.

In my opinion Nokia could have done a heck of alot more on improving the n800 abit more, but having said this the n800 is only the second from the predecessor 770. So the next device they release if any will hopefully fix the problems that the n800 has.

all in all the n800 is still cool, especially thanks to the creators of canola. Canola is just the topping on the cake hehe. and a few others aswell.
