Good day,

I reported a few weeks ago that the USB port of my n900 broke and i had 2 use alternatives to charge and connect to PC. So far i got an external battery charger and i use my microSD card to transfer.

Im interested in overclocking my n900 but i cannot connect it directly into my PC. Is there any way to overclock my n900 without connecting it? Are there like files i could use to run it via xterm or something?

Thanks!

You can download Maemo-Flasher for the n900 to use it there on the spot. I think it's in extras-devel.

You are a bit crazy to want to try a custom kernel without the possibility of restore the default one if something going bad

Let me quote this for emphasis. I would put a priority on getting your USB port fixed, because if something goes wrong after flashing your overclocked kernel and it doesn't boot, you won't be able to flash the original kernel.

third poster was very helpful, thanks!
1.2GHz for 1% stability? that's a real risk..

i guess after i overclock i will have to set aside extra money in case i cripple/destroy my n900..
