Been playing with Maemo Mapper lately and I think I've stumbled onto a rather interesting bug. I'm posting it here to see if anyone else has encountered this issue just in case it's user issue. Here's the circumstances around it.
When I build a map database using the SQlite format, everything is fine and I can read/write to disk just fine until it hits 4gb. Now obviously that's the size limit for files on the vfat file system (aka fat32), but not Ext3. So I took the card, formatted it to ext3, and then tried building past 4gb again. No go. Won't do it. In fact, if you build an SQlite map off system, and it's larger than 4gb, MM won't even read it. If it's less, it has no issues, but it won't if it's larger than 4gb. If you build to just under 4gb, it reads and writes fine...until it hits 4gb.
I don't understand that. Does SQlite have a theoretical size limit? The database reads fine on my system via an SQlite reader, and I can access all 8gb of my database, but not once it's on the tablet. Anyone else seeing this issue?
