I have konwert filters installed. Maybe that would do the trick for you as well.

One other thing to mention is that sometimes I telnet needing IBM Graphics to be displayed.

Nice that openssh-client was released for Maemo5, I really needed that! But now I am facing problem with it - my host system is UTF-8 but it seems that Maemo5 is not... So my characters are not echoing correctly when connecting with ssh. Is there way to fix this?
