Hey,
Almost 2 months ago I stood up to my principles and chose open source and Maemo involvement over my stable future.
Its been a bit of a rocky ride and with your help I got over a sticky situation.

Today, I'd like to give an update.

I have had a thorough look around the Maemo sphere and found a great many jobs and careers available for people in all areas, from engineers to techs and developers and managers with positions in warm and cold countries alike.
There are posts that let you work from home and positions which need you in offices.

After a range of interviews and discussions with many people and companies I signed up with the firm where I feel will be best suited to be productive and to also gain essential experience from

I am proud to say that tomorrow I become a member of the Collabora team and in a few weeks will be travelling to Cambridge to work closely with the folks there.

Thank you all for the support you gave and job leads you pointed my way and I hope to spend the next few years working hard to improve Maemo and open source in general.
Please keep those extra roles in mind and let others know of the posts and positions you found for me and I hope every single post is filled with good people suited to their jobs.

Congratulations!!! Well done. I am glad you have found a position you are happy with.

Does this mean that Collabora will be sponsoring liqbase?

lcuk

You cheered me with this very good news on a cold and damp Sunday morning. I'm sure the whole community feels the same

Oh man I'm happy for you, but you mentioned that there were options in cold and warm countries so why did you have to pick a cold one?

Regards,
Roger

Good luck on the new job!

It's really nice that one can help the open source community at their work too!

Wonderful! Congrats! Superb!

You get to stay (relatively) near home, and you get to do what you want, that is, work on Maemo related stuff.

Now could you guys (I can refer to Collabora as "you guys" now that you're on the team ) get link-local messaging working? Please?

It's got something to do with the avahi daemon.
