Hi, I need to go to Bulgaria in a few days and I am trying Maps on my N900. Unfortunately, in most parts of the country, I can see just major roads. This is odd, because on maps.ovi.com I can see everything.

For instance, if I go to Plovdiv with my mobile, I can see just the main streets. How can I have all maps with details?

My wife has a n97. Do you think I have the same problem on that mobile too?

yip the satellite confirms there are streets that are not loading. I suggest you just stay in Sofia.

Sygic also has NavTeq maps which work but again low coverage (better than Ovi). TeleAtlas has better BG maps and fortunately Sygic supports them if you change the format in the config file, however the rest of the maps will stop working and you can only use them in shareware mode since TA maps are not sold for N900.

You can also try Mappero with Google Maps or Virtual Earth, you can download maps which you can use later.

I am trying Mappero.
Anyway, I can't understand why on maps.ovi.com I can see maps with details and on n900 i can't.
If I look for Plovdiv, Bulgaria on the Ovi Maps I can see details. If I look for this city on n900 Maps I can't. Should they not use the same maps?

You are right, there is drastic difference. Maybe they are using TA maps in the browser version. I'll try to investigate.

There are updated maps for download, check the Map Loader, it now supports N900:

In Mass Storage mode.

The first fix here should work if you didn't do it before:

Or try direct downloading:

Hi! Same problems with Romania map. I have a full map of Romania but is working only with Sygic 7.60. Can you help me with the config file?

It was something like changing the map type from NT to TA.
