i know there's built-in charge protection on these batteries to really prevent a "full" charge, and for good reason, but i still really don't like to leave my n900 charging--or, rather, plugged in once it has reached a "full" charge--over the whole night. of course for me that's the most convenient time to recharge it. i think that w/ older nokia phones if you left it plugged in/charging over a long period of time but had the device switched off, then it would stop receiving charge once the batteries were "full." even though I read about absolutely minimizing the switching on and off of the device to reduce battery consumption, does the n900 work the same? also, is there any other way in any of the n900's settings to automatically cut the charging off once it is "full"? I'm looking for a way to do this b/c obviously i don't want to have to wake up in the middle of the night just to check and unplug my phone.

From what I've seen, the N900 switches off charging when it reaches "full", then switches it back on if it drops too low (appears to be somewhere around 80-85%). That's just what looks to be happening though - I don't know for sure what it's doing.

ah, cool. so w/ all my power-saving modifications I've made (i.e. unless the phone was running apps and stuff that were sucking power while charging) my concerns seem unwarranted. Thank you very much!
