I just need some help understanding what goes on with my N810 when I'm connected to each and every network. Too many anomalies to identify but I'll start with what I know.

Home: Basic reflash of Diablo 43-7:
Everything is setup and my home network is configured. A few hours ago I managed to get the File Manager to see my Windows systems but now they've all disappeared. I've tried countless times to figure out what went wrong but seeings as how I can't install smbclient, I have no idea what I'm doing. In the rare times where the shares icon shows up, they only see the names of the computers and none of the shares.
Server 1 is permanently DMZ'd and running Windows Server 2003 x86.
It has two non-password shares and a printer. This system can see the N810.

Server 2 is running Windows Server 2008 x86. It has one non-passworded share. It only sees the N810 when connected via USB.

The Nokia N810 is not sharing any files or devices.

Everywhere else: Despite not being able to see my own shares, I connect to my friend's wifi and ALL of his passworded shares and his external disks immediately proceed to fill and lockup my File Manager for the better half of a minute. There's even stuff that shows up he didn't know was being shared. He's using Windows 7 x64 on his desktop and God knows what kind of router. I'm curious as to how this can happen despite there being no support for shares that require any kind of authentication.

Hotels/Other: All kinds of shares show up but the majority of them behave like my first server. A computer shows up but nothing more appears.

How is it that I can get passworded stuff from a Windows 7 desktop on a locked down network but can't even see the shares on a server that's as open as the neighbor's wife? I know it seems very stupid that any of this happens the way I describe but I would really like to share files between my servers and the N810 with ease. This brings me to my main solution so far: Pyrdesktop. I can share the disks of my N810 over Remote Desktop but it's slow. Also the user experience sucks on Server 2008(which gives me yet another reason to keep 2003 on my main servers long after the EOL date). Wizard Mounter just crashes on quick mount. If I manage to somehow get it working I get the directories to show up as a SymLink under a directory in the system disk but it's painfully slow. There needs to be a better way to share files on this thing.

It would be a lot easier if I could share a directory from the N810 and have the Windows systems see the share but so far that looks like it's only possible under a legacy OS like 2003. Any ideas would be appreciated.

EDIT: I just discovered three things. The older Samba build is the one that works. The new one is what breaks my network shares. The wireless on server 1 was interrupted and fixing it made the Nokia appear along the servers in the shared list. I can now click on it and instead of being denied, a prompt will appear. Looks like I need to set a password. Thing is, I don't know if it's related to the root account of the device or something I'm supposed to setup in the smb.conf file. What's next?
