Is there a system wide search application/wiget?

It would be great when typing on the desktop results in a system wide search that includes Email, Im Log, Favorits, Apps, Documents, Music (with ID3).

It's neccessary to have an index for a fast search, I think. Results should be shown right after they are found. In addition users should be able to add web search providers like Google or YouTube.

Same as it's on Android, I think.

If you press the button on the top right you should be able to choose on which items the search should look for.

don't know about search, BUT you can use the find command in Linux to find any file on the whole device.

Something like beagle should be easily ported to maemo - it's file indexing service that although I don't use, I suspect would do what you ask.

At least there is no official system wide Search currently. Might be that 3rd party apps exist that I don't know of.

There's Tracker, but I don't know of any third party interface for it.
